1000 Miles Completed !!! Required Run Rate: 215 miles per week

For the week ending Mar 16th, we did 142.5 miles. We have crossed 1000 miles. Kudos to you all !!!
The target run rate for remaining 42 weeks is 215 miles per week. We will not be able to achieve this target unless we get more members in the club. Come on MMA, Let's Do It...

Update As Of 09-Mar-2014

Dear Friends,

We are in the 11th week of the year. I am glad to inform that many new members have joined our group on Strava and are actively participating. As on date, we as a group have completed 884.6 miles. Good progress but not good enough for our target. Using simple average, we need a run rate of 192.5 miles per week and currently we are at 80.42 miles per week. We have a huge backlog to cover. Please reach out to our community members and ask them to join.
Let's Go Team. We can do it...

Update as of 20-Jan-2014

Hello Friends,

I feel glad to inform you all that we as a group have completed 150 miles as of 20-Jan-2014. We still have a long way to go, but we have made a good start. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Well, In our case our journey is of ten thousand miles and we are miles ahead. Slow and steady we are marching forward.
Most of us have not been in a position to start because of the weather conditions. However don't let weather be an excuse forever. Make a start. To begin with, a mile a day is good enough. If you cant run, walk at a good pace. you will be surprised to find out how much you will improve over a period of 2  to 3 weeks.
I am planning to organize few informal meets this weekend at different trails. Hope to see most of you there.

Join the 10K Miles Initiative

Together we will Walk/Run 10,000 miles in 2014

Here is how you can join this initiative

1) Visit www.strava.com to create you free account

2) Join the MMA2014 Walk and Run club on Strava 
http://www.strava.com/clubs/MMA2014
Once you join the club, your miles will get added to the total Club miles

3) If you want to use Strava App for tracking your miles, download the Strava free app on your phone and use it while you walk/run

4) If you have Garmin GPS watches, you can connect and upload the information directly to Strava. If you have any other devices and if those devices can record and export the GPX file, you can import those files into Strava.

5) Pull up your socks, wear your running shoes and GET GOING ............
